He is a senior executive with an extensive international experience in the luxury goods. He has worked for important brands as Commercial director and hands on a great experience in markets such as Europe, Asia, Middle East. Focused on generating sustainable growth and driving operational excellence, he has strong capabilities in developing innovative strategies to open new markets and building and nurturing personal and professional network to leverage brand awareness.
Born in Paris, his native language is French and Italian. He studied at New York University and at Luigi Bocconi University in Milan, where he teaches Business Law. He is a Chartered Accountant and member of the Corporate Governance Commission of the Milan Ordine dei Dottori Commercialisti (Association of Chartered Accountants). He is also a Technical Consultant of the Judge at the Court of Milan, Auditor of multinational companies.
He is Business Development Director of GPA, Co-founder and CEO of GPA Works, the company specialized in Luxury Markets (retail, residential, hospitality..) Co-founder and CEO of ACE a company specialized in a wide range of real estate services. He has worked for major fashion and technology international top brands as Client Representative, Program Manager and Project Manager in Europe and North America. He lives in Florence but he considers Milan, London and New York a kind of “second home”. He has been working in North America since 2010 and he spent 6 months in New York in 2012. Between 2014 and 2018 he was President of GPA Partners Corporation, the USA branch of GPA.
Marco Riva’s family played an important role in his future career, raised in the hospitality field, Riva was recruited by Ritz-Carlton to support an opening in Jakarta in 2005 and subsequently, another in Osaka, Japan. In 2009, Shangri-La came knocking with an opportunity to oversee four hotel restaurants in Bangkok. Then Mandarin Oriental expressed interest in Riva’s talents, and in 2012 he became Executive Sous-Chef on the opening team of property in Pudong, Shanghai, with six restaurants and bars and he quickly got promoted to executive chef. “I just fell in love with the people, the project, and Four Seasons way of doing things.
